Box Grater Towel Rack + A Touch of Farmhouse Charm

There are days I’ll be mindlessly scrolling on Pinterest and come across the most brilliant hack of all time and think, “How did I never think of that?!”

This week, that happened 70 times to be exact.  Because that’s exactly how many times I was inspired flipping through the pages of Liz Fourez’s book, A Touch of Farmhouse Charm, which just hit bookstores this week.

If you’ve never “met” Liz on her blog Love Grows Wild, go now… fast.

Because if farmhouse style is your jam, you’re probably going to flip as much as I did over the 70 gorgeous tutorials she’s included in her book.  All of them can be done in a day, and some take just minutes to do.  If you’re a fan of power tools though, she includes plenty for the advanced DIYer too.

And all of them are displayed with great ideas for styling in beautiful photos of her own home, where she lives on a farm in Indiana.  Liz’s quiet and sweet personality and her love of family life is reflected in every little detail.

Now that the farmhouse trend has been big for a couple of years now, I thought I’d really seen every idea possible at this point.  And since we live in a suburban tract home, we’re usually limited to what we can do with that style.

But every single one of Liz’s ideas can be done in any kind of home and on a budget.

I decided to incorporate one of her brilliant ideas into our powder room by repurposing an antique box grater to make a hand towel rack.

See?! Genius, right?

It took literally 2 minutes, and our powder room, which is still very much on the plain side (except for our chippy HomeGoods mirror) now has an extra punch of character.

I still have dreams to swap out our basic faucet and add in some board and batten one day, but this one little change with the box grater towel rack already makes it so much better.
