If you listen really closely, you can almost hear angels singing. I mean, that is SOME before and after.

This nursery closet that was stressing me out just a few weeks ago is now so totally GLORIOUS!!!

I got in trouble for this one though.  I really did.

I was so not happy with the old wire shelving that was originally chilling out in this closet.  It wasn’t really that bad.  It just wasn’t making me feel motivated get organized in here.  Once we finished the rest of the nursery makeover though, I was able to carve out the time to make it happen.

So while Olivia was at school and Robert was at work, I was restless and decided I was sick of staring at this closet.  Hitting your due date and still having no baby will do that to your brain.

I busted out the power driver and ripped out every single shelf and felt a million times better.

And then I patched the holes, climbed a step stool, and hung up some peel and stick wallpaper. (Here’s a how-to if you’re new to wallpaper… the peel and stick is super quick and easy and mess-free.)

Word to the wise, don’t try this at home when you’re 9 months pregnant or your husband will most likely fuss at you for overdoing it.  Yeah, I was dumb.

But it’s so pretty!!!

Don’t worry though. At this point, Robert ordered me to put my feet up and not move at all while he did the hardest part, which was putting together the solid shelving to replace the old wire ones.

Aren’t y’all so jealous of this outfit?  He’s a regular trendsetter. Pajamas and cowboy boots will be all the rage in Paris next season, mark my words.

This closet looks SO much better!  And I feel like I can actually think straight in here now.

And these solid shelves were absolutely worth a couple of hours of putting them together to pack way more function into this closet.

Robert and I are convinced we need this in all the rest of our closets now since houses built in 1960 don’t exactly have the best reputation for stellar closet space.

I picked up these baskets at Target for extra clothing storage of hand-me-down toddler sizes that Regan won’t be wearing for a while.

Even though Olivia has cornered the market on children’s books in her reading nook around here, I snagged a few to keep on this closet shelf for Regan’s bedtime stories.  Start ’em young, right? 😉

The gray tree wallpaper actually reminds me of the Narnia reading nook downstairs in the playroom, so Regan gets her own little version until she grows into the wardrobe one.

I’m really glad I sprung for a couple of these drawers to pack tons more storage on this shelf for all of the extra diapering items.

We plan to cloth diaper, but since we got a giant box of wipes at our baby shower, we’re sure they’ll still be put to good use when we travel or have grandparents babysit.

And the second drawer has been great for stashing a few other odds and ends that don’t really have a place otherwise.

To help me keep the different sizes of hanging clothes separated, I printed these divider tags on cardstock.

I really wasn’t sure I was going to get to this closet project if Regan graced us with her presence early, but I’m so glad she gave me the time to feel fully prepared and organized in here.

Here are all of the sources we used, if you need them:

I’ll give y’all a grand tour soon of all of the different ways we packed tons of organization into this nursery because it’s a LOT!  More than I could sum up in this one post for sure.

Anyone else feeling totally inspired to overhaul other closets?  The ones in our master bedroom are calling my name now.
