Fall Front Porch Stoop

9 out of 10 psychologists will tell you that fall decorating is good for keeping an optimistic attitude.  And it’s 100% true that I totally just made up that first part.

But it can’t be that far off from being accurate, right? Pumpkins and mums make everything better.

I thought I was totally finished decorating for the season after cozying up our fall back porch, but then I was afraid our front porch stoop would feel neglected.

Nothing big and over the top.  Just a good ol’ wreath, door mat, and some fall feelies on the steps to say, “Welcome, all ye adorable trick or treaters!”

I planned to go all neutral on the front porch this year until I spotted this wreath in HomeGoods, and it totally changed my tune.

(I shared a bunch of my favorite fall wreaths the other week too… can we just have 20 front doors please? Or a wreath for every day of the month?)

For our welcome mat, I just swapped out our spring/summer green plaid one for this black and white check rug to carry through fall and winter.  It’ll be so cute with red and green all around it for Christmas in a couple of months.

And I snagged these big faux white pumpkins in HomeGoods the other week too since I always start decorating for fall every year before the real pumpkins are available in stores (which is probably a sign that I have a problem).

The trees all around our house are still bright green, but I cannot wait until they all start fading to orange and yellow in the next few weeks.  So I’ll just enjoy this little stoop and pretend until then.

If you want to know about any of the sources I used, you can find them all here:

I pinky promise I’m finished with the fall decorating now since I should probably stop tinkering with pumpkins and finally put the last touches on the nursery already (that I’ll be sharing soon).

If you want any more fall decorating ideas that I’ve shared in the past, you can find them all here.
