We’re chug-a-lugging right along on the nursery makeover, y’all! And the calendar has never felt so real. I’m praying this little sprout stays cozy for a while because it really is looking like this room will come down to the wire.
If you haven’t been following along so far, here’s a quick recap of what this room looked like before.
In the past few weeks, we’ve painted one coat of Magnolia Home True White on the walls to give us a leg up on our DIY picture frame molding.
And then this little slice of gorgeousness showed up.
Hello, lover!
I searched high and low for a light fixture that was slightly glam but still classic and could pass as “little girl-ish”. And when I saw this pendant at Del Mar Fans & Lighting, I could not get it out of my mind.
You know how you keep shopping for something but just find yourself comparing everything else to that one item you fell in love with but you have major FOMO and you end up scrolling around for hours upon days even though you know you’ve already found the one?
Am I the only one who does this? Bueller? Maybe I just have decision-making issues.
This is the 20″ Meadow Lane Pendant by Quoizel, which actually looks like a glammed up girlified version of Robert’s masculine office light fixture we got from Del Mar Fans a couple of years ago.
I love that it is gold but still has a brushed soft vintage look. The little crystals reflect the light so beautifully around the room.
I just put some regular LED Edison style bulbs in it for now, but then I realized I should probably swap them out for smart bulbs so that I can dim or turn off the overhead light from my phone while I’m tied up with nursing in the glider.
Where were smart bulbs 6 years ago when I could have used them with Olivia? Because that’s brilliant.
I breathed a huge sigh of relief once this light was up because that means we are one step closer to calling this space finished (which is still quite a ways away).
This week, Robert is finishing up caulking the picture frame molding (bless his heart since he’s officially forbidden me from doing any sort of home improvement labor at this point).
Here’s where we are on the to-do list:
Take down window valanceRemove ceiling fanRemove broken closet doorsInstall picture frame moldingInstall light fixture- Install new closet doors
- Finish painting walls and doors
- Remove carpet and refinish hardwood floors
- Refinish dresser for changing table
- Get a crib and glider
- Hang art and wall decor
- Hang curtains
- Put up window shades

It’s looking better and better every day…
So good, right?! Eep!!!
I know this room is going to see some rough, exhausting nights, but I’m so thankful that it will at least have the look of a peaceful escape. Maybe baby Regan will get the memo? Ya think? Here’s hoping.
You can find the light fixture along with all of Quoizel’s lighting here and use the code QUO818 to get 10% off by the end of August if you’ve been on a lighting hunt lately too.
