Teal Painted Bathroom Makeover

Just dropping in with a quick update of Olivia’s bathroom makeover that I am SO giddy about.

Remember the last time I shared all of my hopes and dreams for this space and it had this lovely all-beige scheme going on?

My #1 goal for this room has been to give it a whole new look for as little mulah as possible since paint can really do the most magic in here.

Throughout this entire house since the day we moved in, we’ve been painting over beige left and right.  It’s amazing how much easier we can breathe around here with crisp, white paint that makes every room look squeaky clean.  (We still have a long way to go before completely banishing the beige in a lot of other rooms around here, but we’re getting there.)

Along with a healthy dose of Benjamin Moore Simply White, I gave Olivia 8 color samples to pick from for this space, and she chose Magnolia Home Paint in the color Weekend.

Girl’s got good taste, huh?  I was so surprised she wanted a color this dark and vibrant.

I loooooove this vibrant, rich teal shade in here.  It says “mermaid”, don’t you think?  Which is good, since that’s what we’re going for in this space.

So last week, I spent 3 days rolling the ceiling and brushing the trim with Ben Moore Simply White, rolling the walls with the Weekend color, and painting the doors to match the rest in our house with Ben Moore Wrought Iron.

Holy transformation, Batman!

So now the next step to tackle is the beige marblelite on the countertop and tub/shower, which I’ll be sharing more about later with a quick fix.

And as for these vanity cabinets, they’ve probably seen better days.  Until we can do a full Phase 2 demo and reno though, we’re going to make them work with lots of sanding, priming, and more painting.

I think I might start painting things in my sleep at this rate.

So now that the powder room is a wrap and the laundry room is finished (that I’ll be sharing this week!!!), we’re kicking off a brand new to-do list for this space.

• Freshen tile grout with grout paint
• Swap out shower curtain
• Change vanity light shades
• Mount shelf
• Hang art
• Decorate!

If y’all need me, I’ll be painting… and painting… and maybe doing a little more painting.
